Yay for Roy Lichtenstein! I had someone request that I paint his famous work Kiss V on their purse, and though it is not an original work of mine, it was still a great test of the steadiness of my hand.

Cliché it may be, but holy moly, does the time fly by. It's been months since my last post, and over that time I've been working on hand-painted accessories for my etsy shop.

Time to get back to my 'tree project' - I will finish you!

             

Jem shoes

I took one of my old pairs of leather heels and decided to paint something fun on them! They turned out WAY better than I thought they would... now they're truly TRULY outrageous! I was super excited to wear these for a fun night out, but when I put them on, I discovered that they don't fit anymore. Now they're a half-size too big. Can your feet shrink??

Time to google "how to stuff your heels"...

Beastmaster Brandon

My last work of 2011! I was commissioned by a loving wife who wanted a geeky Christmas present for her husband. She wanted them together in a Beastmaster-inspired poster, with the role of the ferrets played by the couple's two sexually perverted cats.

Yeah, the trees in this one take a backseat to the ring of mushrooms, but what the hey. It counts! Speaking of which - I haven't seen a fairy ring in a super long time... *sigh*

Sometimes I wish I knew how to really sew, and by that I mean more than just the practical skills of mending and hemming. Then I could create dresses like this one in real life and wear it all day. Every day.

So, originally I had planned on just sketching trees on their own for this little project, but I can't help myself. I just start adding things.

One of my favorite scenes from a great author. I'd like to re-create this image and redo it from scratch, but this time with her pack of Alaunt surrounding her (and probably with a better background with a Skraeling or two.)
